This is a great educational DVD set for the whole family. (Great price too) We do family movie night and the kids love to watch this series. So far we have watched disk 1 (4 different episodes) We have also been watching "Planet Earth" which I also highly recommend.

- 5 stars?!?! they should have a 1-5 gamma ray burst scale . . .
I find the topic enthralling, yes, so I am biased. The images that have been created to illustrate such topics as the big bang and star birth and death are really beautiful. In an age when TV shows are created to serve as a background for daily life or to provide noise companionship for a viewer who is internet surfing, this series deviates. It requires full (or at least 90%) attention. The narration is informative but not discursive. If astronomy is not your career, this series is a great one to own because you might not catch everything that's covered the first time and can watch it again and again!
