Rating  - Too decorative to be functional
Well, concept is good, but the holes in the leaf shapes allow the squirrels to chew their way into the feeder. We're still looking for a reasonably priced squirrel proof feeder. All of them seem to have some fatal flaw in design. We've also has problems with the spring being sprung too.
Rating  - Perfect squirrel screwer
I was somewhat sceptical about "another sure device to defeat squirrels at the birdfeeder", but this one lives up to its advertising ! It is very well made, looks nice hanging amongst the branches, and really keeps the squirrels out of the feed. One can adjust the tension of the springs that govern the closing of the "doors" to the seed chambers so that even the slightest weight by a squirrel (or large bird, if you want)automatically shuts the gate in its face! This is a great product and is well worth the rather low price.
Rating  - Springs Be Gone
I, too, must have fat squirrels in my yard. The little buggers broke the springs on this (cuss word) feeder within a day. It's a lot easier, and less expensive, to put a Mandarin baffler OVER your feeder than to buy one of these stupid things. I tried twice and both feeders were returned because the springs popped after a day. As other reviewers said, it's also a bear to keep the inside of the thing clean. There's no way to get to the very bottom of the feeder in the corners. The slightest bit of moisture that gets to the seed and your seed will sprout, making for a lot of sick birds.
Rating  - A good product
I like the Squirrel-be-Gone tubular feeder, and so do our birds. Squirrels give up after a few tries. The only problem I have is with the top unscrewing and the whole thing falling to the ground. Apparently it rotates and then this happens. Maybe the rotation is caused by wind or animals. Whatever made it happen, after the first couple times I made sure to tighten the top as much as possible after filling it and hanging it up. If it weren't for this one problem I would give the product 5 stars.
