Rating  - Sound Power
The companies, Amazon & Vanns, sent me the wrong color subwoofer, but they did offer to replace it. The subwoofer performance has been excellent, providing an adequate bass boost to complement my existing Bose 301 speakers.
Rating  - the jury is out
I , bought the polk sub with the monitor series frt and rear thinking I should match brands. well, apparently that is not necessary, so after i received the system and set it up I found the polk sub to be underwhelming. granted, i did not spend a lot of time in calibration so this may have tilted my opinion somewhat.It may be suitable for some but i was expecting less of a "muddy" sound. Unfortunately, the sub looks awesome with my surrounds, but that isn't enough to satisfy my sensitive hearing. I'm sure others would be happy with the performance at this price range but I returned the polk and am now shopping for an upgrade
Rating  - Powered subwoofer
Excellent component. Well priced, designed and appointed. Audio response very good. Component has internal amp to output to expernal aux speakers. Compact and good finish. Internal volume, phase and filtering controls.
