Rating  - Great little vac!!
Wasn't planning on spending this much $ on a vacuum cleaner, but after reading all of the positive reviews, I was sold. This model is slim and perfect for anyone who has tight spaces. I live in a city studio, and this vacuum cleaner is perfect. It fits in tight spaces and the swivel head is ingenious! I was ready to buy a $45 DirtDevil at Target, but remembered my bad experience in the past with cheap vacuum cleaners. After doing a ton of research and faced with an opportunity to purchase this unit at a good deal, I took the plunge. You definitely get what you pay for.
Rating - Dyson DC18 Slim Great Product
Super vaccuum. This is the second one I bought. One for my wife & one for my mother. A little pricey but what an exceptional cleaning machine and the ball makes getting in tight spots a breeze.
Rating - Great machine!
After trying out our new Dyson DC18, I had to call my mother to tell her that I was cheating on my husband and was in love with a vacuum. Anyway...it's great. I love the size-it's small enough that I can stash it on my first floor rather than having to lug it up and down from the basement. It's quiet- I can use it easily while kids are sleeping and not wake anyone up. It's effective- I was repulsed to see how much *gunk* came out of the carpet the first time that I used it. Blech, but very satisfying. The first time through the house I had to empty the container several times, but that was more a testimony to it's superior suction than to the small tank size. Once the initial clean was done, the tank size is just fine and I don't feel like I'm constantly emptying it. It's easy to switch from carpet to wooden floor with a push of a button near the handle. It's easy to release stuff that gets wrapped around the brush. Overall, I'm thrilled.
Rating - Slam Dunk - Dyson for Life
Got my Dyson Slim yesterday and took advantage of the [...] discount. Put together was easy about 5 mins, funny side note, it took longer to take out the cardboard boxes and put in recycle bin than setup.
First thing I did after I got back inside was I did a sweep with the old vacuum and then with the new Dyson. Just some background I have an 1100 sq.ft condo. I was both quite disgusted and rejoice full that I filled up the canister of the Dyson after just doing a sweep with the old hover.
My old vacuum, the hover is about a 5yr. old, hand me down from parents, which I have had for a year, thought it was in good shape, and just did not like how quick the bags filled up and how costly they were.
But I can say that the before and after clean up I was quite surprised with the two brand difference/quality cleanup job they each do.
I can say that from now on I am a Dyson man for life. I now will have clean carpets thanks Dyson another satisfied customer.
Rating  - does its job well
After having owned vacuums that lost its suction over time this to me was a breath of fresh air. It is lighter than the bigger ones and takes up less space in the closet. I have a mix of hardwood floors and carpet and the ease with which you can switch is great. The amount of stuff it collects is great and it so doesn't loose suction. I can pick it up to move upstairs with not too much hassle.
the negatives - the hose is a bit awkward in its set up and not long enough for me to use with the attachments for stairs etc. I don't find I can just press the button and all the stuff will just fall out from the bottom, I find I have to poke my hand in to get all the stuff out.
But apart from those things its great and I love it.
