Rating - Excellent projector if used as directed!
We purchased this projector for use as an effect in a prop for a show. We essentially used it to create a portable rear screen tv (with the addition of the battery PK20R, a car stereo DVD player w/ battery.
We ended up using it over and over after the show ended. Excellent for presentations, IN THE RIGHT SETTING!
This projector needs a dim or dark room to be effective. Yes it can push 60", but it is most effective for size-vs-picture around 48". A nice projection surface can make all the difference, we keep a piece of white silk with it at all times for instant set up.
The multiple inputs are amazing for something so small. We have run off an SD card, a dvd player, laptops and PCs. Makes an excellent temporary second monitor.
PROs
-small size
-variety of inputs
-quality of signal
CONs
-needs dim/dark room
-a bit hefty, but feels SOLID, so maybe a good hefty.
-video from the SD card is tricky, not recomended.
Rating - Better than PK10 and can do a big screen
Another reviewer here states that this product cannot focus at larger than 60". My projected image is 6' from one side to the other, and the image is great and FOCUSED. I wanted to set the record straight, because I was almost dissuaded from getting the pk20 thanks to his comments. I have 2 other projectors, an ancient powerlite 7300 and a newer acer dlp projector, and this projector is actually better, image wise and quality wise. Incredible! This is more than adequate for vga and tv watching in a home theatre setup. Poor man indeed, it looks great to me! With all projectors a dark room is better, even with a higher end projector (the acer) I still used a darkened room. Also, you can loosen the 'elevator' foot screw and use it to ceiling mount the projector (due to its light weight) without blowing $$ on an overpriced ceiling mount. I give this projector an A+. Even the 800x600 res isnt that bad its kind of nice to have larger text when websurfing and my favorite game (age of empires 3) scales perfectly and looks fine in that res. And being able to run this without worrying about paying 25 cents/hour (what most lamps cost for other projectors) AND it only uses 25 watts/hour vs. 250 watts for my acer.(great since I m on solar power- I measured the power consumption with my handy kilowatt electricity meter) How can you beat this? Oh and the short throw distance means I can ceiling mount it 9 ft from the screen and not worry about my head getting in the way. This is THE best deal you ll ever find (for now) on a projector!!
Rating - Great Tiny Project for Low Light Conditions
This project is awesome in smaller environments with low lighting. It is not the projector to use as a main projector for larger meetings in brightly lit rooms. With that said, the SD Memory card feature is awesome, so I use this to show photo slide shows to relatives. In my small conference room at work, this is perfectly adequate for meetings of under a dozen people. I think this projector is ideal if your intention is to exploit for the following situations:
Lightweight - if you travel frequently and present to small groups or can put what you present on an SD memory card.... this is great because it doesn't require a laptop...
If you have smaller group meetings where the device can be positioned relatively close to the screen/wall
If you have low light or dark conditions
The drawbacks to this projector are it size limitation.... I get up to around 7 feet of diagonal image in the dark. But this is adequate, not great. At around 50 inches, it works well, but again in lower light. If you have normally lit office, this won't cut it. If you can position this thing close to the screen (within about 6 feet, you will also have difficulty.
Rating - Wonderful
I bought this little projector for power point slide shows. It has
worked very well and the resolution has been great.
