- Don't rely on this device.
What a great idea, I thought. Well, today was the day I finally had the "chance" to use it. I left my headlights on and was relieved to know that I could just pull out this device and be on my way. No such luck! I followed the instructions exactly and IT SIMPLY DID NOT WORK. Nada, zip. Why is this product still on the market? And why did the latest Consumer Reports just report it as one model that actually works. It doesn't.

I purchased the Black & Decker Simple Start a couple of years ago. This product is a total waste of money. I charged it once a month and when the time came to start my car it failed miserably. My advice is don't waste your money on this product. I am sending it to a recycle location.

This product fried my car. I had to buy a new one. It fried the alarm system and the PCM.

I bought the Black & Decker BB7B Simple Start 12-Volt Battery Booster for an emergency but the first time i needed to use it for the first time and it didn't work it didn't even want to turn on. when i got home i tried to charge it but when you hit the charge button all it those its continually beeps and the green light doesn't blink it just stays a steady green light. it only works when it connected to the wall outlet. i tried leaving it on for the night. But the next morning it still didn't want to work without it being connected to the wall outlet.
