- DON'T BUY -- Great Concept -- Poor Reliability -- No Customer Service
Have owned two of these for a bit over two years. Both required replacement within first year. Both replacements died within 18 months. Multiple calls to Bunn customer service were at first not returned at all. Called fifth time and was told they'd be happy to estimate the repair cost. I explained history and asked to be transferred to someone who could elect to repair under warranty as a good will gesture as there are obviously engineering design problems and/or quality control problems. (Check other reviews and do a little Googling.) Fellow called back and said he had the power to make exceptions, but wound up repeating an obviously scripted "out of warranty" mantra and refused my request.

When it worked it made good HOT coffee.

Do the math. Option A: Buy a $300 coffee maker that dies at least once a year and will only be replaced once under the two year warranty. Total two year cost = $300. Option B: Buy a cheap $50 pod machine and expect it to last only six months. Two years = four machines = 4 x $50 = $200. You save $100 minimum and will save even more if the cheapies last more than six months each.

NOTE REGARDING OTHER REVIEWS: Suggest you give more weight to reviews by folks who owned multiple units over multiple years. I too was happy for the first few months...

Despite the Bunn name, which is great for commercial establishments, this machine does not make good coffee (if you like regular Dunkin Donuts style coffee). It does not come out even hot enough. Too expensive, but I was prepared to live with that provided the coffee tasted good and it was hot.

This is the second machine I have owned the first one got an electrical short within the first month of use. I called Bunn and they sent me a new one overnite. This is the best coffee machine I have ever owned it is really nice to have a cup of coffee when you want it without having to make a whole pot of coffee.Bunn MCP1 My Cafe Single-Serve Coffee/Tea Pod Brewer

I have tried many pod brewers and was never satisfied with any of them till I bought this one. This is the best pod brewer I have had. Besides making excellent coffee for me and tea for my wife I use it to make instant oatmeal every day by using the hot water in it which is more then hot enough for the oatmeal. And unless Bunn can top this pod brewer of thiers with another it will be around here for a long time.
