Now it is suggested to turn off X band normally because it is rarely used,but it is used in some states still(like mine) and it has already saved me a couple times. Overall good product good price Rating - ***** Just finished a 4200 mile trip and the product worked perfectly and saved me several times. Rating - Quieter Model My last Cobra radar detector (which lasted 4 years before the sound stopped working) was slightly annoying with its incessant beeping, and wound up being more of a distraction than the informative piece of equipment it's intended to be. This model is fantastic - the color screen is very clear and easy to read. When an alert sounds, the screen flashes and a less-obnoxious beep is heard. It's easier to notice that the screen is flashing during an alert; the volume doesn't have to be up all the way if you are "enjoying" music in your vehicle. I really like the clip that secures it to the suction cup holder - you have to push down on a button to remove the detector from the holder, which seems more secure than just sliding it on/off a holder. Rating - POOR and USELESS, NOT a GOOD PRODUCT i don't recommend to buy this product to anybody. it is a poor and a useless one. i got this product for a month now and installed it to my car right away when i got it and used it everyday going to work and drive around. i was so excited to use it for the first time but i got frustrated when i use it. i tried every settings it had and they worked the same. just keep on annoying but there's no cop you can see around and when there is a cop it is silent. i give one star just for the design and look. Rating - 12 band cobra review I purchased this product and found it to be excellent. I live-in Chicago,il and Chicago Police hardly use the radar equipment,but this time it alerted me and it was a Sheriff's car behind me almost 2 blocks behind me. As he approached me closer,the alert was sounding more rapidly more and more. This saved me from getting a speeding ticket.
