Customer Reviews for: Sex and the City - Season Six, Part 1

Rating 5 out of 5 - Excellent comedy about the unrealistic women expectations
Very funny series, I loved it though I will never recommend it for women who are really serious about getting into a relationship with men. These women want men who are "perfect " 24 hours a day, for as long as they consider the men valid. Should the men present one iota of problem, they drag themselves to a nice restaurant, well dressed up to cast the judgement on the guys ( The women NOT even being perfection themselves). The women will only get so far as to get fun, not serious relationships. For a relationship to last, women should compromisse here and there, be more understanding, forgiving about the human nature. Nobody can be or is perfect all the time (not even the gals in these series). You want to cast the stone on men alone ? Continue being single, no need to waste time whinning. Have the relationship with TVYO.

Rating 5 out of 5 - Of All The Sets, This Is My Favorite!
Everyone complains about how season six is divided in half, but I don't care. I think part one and two both seem like different seasons. Part two is all about wrapping six years up, but [part one is more similiar to all the other years, and ranks as my favorite of all the sets you can get. This has a lot of my favorite episodes, like the one where Charlotte and Harry get married, the continuing story of Steve and Miranda, Carrie and Berger and Samantha and Smith. I also love when Miranda gets addicted to TiVo. I'm sure we've all gone through a time where we say, "To Hell with other people as long as I have my TV." Her reaction to Magda's accidental erasing of TiVo is priceless ("You sat on TiVo? Is he OK?"). Also, I love that Charlotte's willing to change her religion for her true love. Her and Harry have such a sweet relationship, and I also liked the show didn't go for cheap Jew jokes. All in all, the splitting didn't bother me at all, and there are plenty of classics within this collection. Buy it!

Rating 4 out of 5 - Great season and worth the money, but...
I agree with people who are angry about the packaging. I love all the HBO shows that have been released on DVD, but whoever designs and markets the SATC sets is insane. Releasing seasons in 2 halves is a ripoff, plain and simple. There is no reason for it. Of course I still love it so I cannot complain. IMO this is the best season since 3. Not that 4 and 5 were bad, but the stories not as compelling and the show hadn't really found it niche again like it did here. This season is fantastic the whole way through, and like the Amazon reviewer said, there is not a bad one here at all. Each episode is funny and smart and the writing is better than ever. Brilliant stuff. I am not a fan of the later eps as much mainly because I am not a fan of Baryshnikov's character

Rating 5 out of 5 - Reaching the end.
I agree with people complaining about this season because it was released in two parts but I also think that has nothing to do with the quality of the series.
The sixth season was the longest and the best, actually I've seen all the seasons and found them better one after the other. This first part with 12 episodes contains the comedy of season 3 and the maturity of season 4. It also shows how the caracters are finding their ways in life. Carrie starts dating a writer. The relationship seems serious in the beginning but then it has a twist and then on the last episode Carrie meets someone very special.
Charlotte falls in love with her divorce lawyer and becomes jewish while she tries to get married with him. Miranda's nights become strange when she spends every night watching a series where a white woman falls in love with a black guy who lives in her same building and that actually becomes a reality in her own life, but again there's a big twist on the last episode of this part of the season. Finally Samantha gets where she or any viewer would have ever thought. She dates and has sex with just one guy during the 12 episodes. This guy was a waiter in one restaurant and Samantha wanted to have on-night-stand with him which she has but then she meets with him again in a party and then she finds him special and she helps him very much when she makes him become a star. (That doesn't mean that there are not funny scenes, yes there are several funny scenes).
If you have seen the seasons before this one, this one is a must have to continue with the story. And if you have seen some episodes, I'd strongly recommend you to watch Sex and the city from the very first episode on season one.
