Don't bother trying to port an old phone number unless you are willing to make multiple calls and have lots of time on your hands. Customer service is as bad as they say. Phone connections are worse then my old provider (AT&T). I switched because it looked like they would be cheaper, but its not worth it.

Rating 1 out of 5 - TracFone has Worst Service Ever!
I would give TracFone 0 stars on service if I could. Stay far away from this company! Deceptive, lying, WORST customer service I have ever experienced. They sold me a year of service via a promotion, but now they won't let me buy minutes separately. A supervisor told me (it took more than a half hour to get connected after every 2 minutes a hispanic idiot kept endlessly repeating " may I put you on hold for 2 more minutes while I connect you to my supervisor") that it was my fault for buying the promotion, nobody forced me. All double-talk! Expect to speak to English-challenged Indian people overseas on tech questions and Hispanics on all other issues. I had no previous preconceptions but am now convinced that Hispanics have no clue on how to have good relationships with their customers. Nor do they care. So... Adios!

Tracfone's representatives made untrue statements again and again, and when they got my money, they wouldn't back them up.

When you call, you usually get an English-challenged person who says over and over, "Please let me put you on hold for two minutes while I talk with my supervisor."

What are the chances that you can talk with a supervisor? Not good. When I tried, they put me on hold and then dropped the connection.

If you send an e-mail, you get a generic reply that does not address complaints or problems.

I'm now trying to get my cancelled Tracfone number ported to Sprint, but the Tracfone people just can't seem to make it happen. The guy I'm speaking with (I'm on hold right now.) can't spell "SPRINT." Honest!! I had to go through a phonetic spelling with him--you know, like: "S" as in stupid, "P" as in pathetic . . . "

If I had to advise anyone on which cell phone service to use, I'd say, "Anyone but Tracfone."





Rating 1 out of 5 - Truly The WORST OF ANY COMPANY ANYWHERE EVER!
When I first bought these phones, I thought it was fine, cheap and good. Then they contacted me to say they had to swap my phone for a newer one due to a "Service Change" in my area. There began what has now become a 3-weeks-running over 6-hours-on-hold nightmare including inept helpless helpers, shipments of wrong sim cards, and utter confusion with no end in sight. NEVER EVER BUY THIS! IT STINKS! IT IS THE WORST! Their Buenos Aires-based "help" is nearly illiterate and utterly helpless. You will spend your LIFE ON HOLD trying to get help. STAY AWAY! STAY fAR AWAY!

I feel bad even giving them a star! Please....-0 is more like it. Don't even contemplate this prepaid service despite any good review anywhere! I am not a complainer and usually do not write reviews on anything but I do believe in advertising bad service when a company deserves it and this one truly does. This is the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with!! For the last several years I have used Tracfone. I have never been fully satisfied with them but I learned to deal with them since I only use my phone for emergencies (only using it perhaps 5 times a year), I built up several hundred minutes buying 1 year prepaid cards.

Their customer service department is an absolute nightmare! It is difficult to understand the representatives and is extremely noisy in the background. You really have to strain to hear anything they are saying. One call will easily take 30 minutes or more every time you call no matter what you call for. (Actually, 30 minutes is probably a short call) I always dreaded renewing airtime. They go back and forth between their supervisors leaving you mostly waiting. And they make you enter a hundred thousand numbers for everything! They seem to keep no records of anything so you have to repeat all information every time you call. And I have never been able to activate my phone via the website. It's horrible! An absolute waste of time for no reason. Very poorly managed company! The icing on the cake is when they deactivated my phone in the middle of my yearly service and would not reactivate it unless I bought more airtime. I had many months of airtime left and over 500 minutes!!!! (clearly shown on my cell phone display) Why would I need to purchase another airtime card? They obviously had their records mixed up (if they actually keep any) and cut my phone off in error, but they were not about to admit they made a mistake. I was obviously very frustrated over the situation but at the same time it was a blessing not to have to deal with them again! Goodbye Tracfone!
